Ireland Women Begin World Cup Preparations

The Ireland Women’s squad begin their preparations with the announcement of an extended training panel of 32 players for the build-up to the IRB Women’s Rugby World Cup.

The squad will come together for their first camp this weekend in Malahide under new coach Philip Doyle.

They will play practice matches against Scotland in July with a further practice match against Wales in early August before traveling to England for the start of the IRB Women’s Rugby World Cup on August 16.
 
Ireland are in Pool B with hosts England,the  USA and Kazakhstan. The girls in green will open their campaign against recent Six Nations winners England at Surrey Sports Park on Friday, August 20 (kick-off 6.30pm).
 
The squad will be further reduced to 26 players later in the summer.
