Flannery Cited For ‘Alleged Kick’
Ireland hooker Jerry Flannery is due to appear before a Six Nations independent disciplinary committee as a result of a citing arising from the RBS 6 Nations Championship match between France and Ireland at the Stade de France on Saturday.
The citing lodged by the Independent Citing Commissioner for the match, Peter Brown (Scotland), is for an alleged kick on France winger Alexis Palisson in contravention of Law 10.4 (c).
Jerry Flannery’s hearing will be held on Wednesday morning at Dublin Airport.
The independent Six Nations disciplinary committee will be chaired by Roger Morris (Wales), with the other two members being John Doubleday and Mike Hamlin (both England).
For the RBS 6 Nations Championship, the referee, two assistant referees, television match official, referee assessor and citing commissioner are all appointed by the IRB.
The citing commissioner has 48 hours from the end of the match in which to make any citings.
