Big Day Out For Tallaght Tag Rugby Team

Big Day Out For Tallaght Tag Rugby Team

As Ireland lined up against South Africa, Emmet Norton and his Bud Light Tag team-mates were on hand to shout them on to an undeafeated 2009.

Emmet Norton who plays in the IRFU’s Tag rugby programme with ‘Any Given Thursday’ at Tallaght RFC, was the first prize winner in the Bud Light Tag Competition Draw held earlier this year.

This prize entailed VIP treatment for twelve Tag rugby team members along with match tickets plus invitations to the official IRFU post-match team reception afterwards.

After a photoshoot pitchside prior to the Ireland v South Africa game at Croke Park, Emmet and his team-mates took some time to enjoy the pre-match atmosphere before heading off to their seats in time for kick-off.

And what a game they witnessed along with almost 75,000 people. An almighty physical contest where the boot of Jonathan Sexton rewarded the team for all their hard work in the tight and loose, seeing Ireland to a 15-10 victory despite a very tight finish indeed.

Following the match, ‘Any Given Thursday’ made their way to the function room where the team reception was to be held.

This is where the players and officials meet up with their families and friends after a game so all were sure of a most memorable evening.

Emmet said: “It was great to be at the stadium for such a momentous occasion of going a full calender year unbeaten and of course, to see our Grand Slam champions defeat the World Cup and Tri Nations champions.

“Couldn’t have asked for a better day. Thanks to the IRFU and Bud Light Tag. Now roll on the next Tag season!”

Any Given Thursday‘ are already asking when they can book their place for the 2010 season!
Registrations go live at www.irfutag.ie on January 7 at 10am.

Bud Light Tag is Ireland’s only official IRFU Tag rugby programme and grows even further next summer with the addition of huge BRAND NEW venues such as St. Mary’s College RFC/Templeogue College and Blackrock College RFC in Dublin, Highfield RFC in Cork, Malone RFC in Belfast and Buccaneers RFC in Athlone.
