Carrick Youths Support Charitable Trust

Saturday, November 14 was the designated club day in relation to the IRFU Charitable Trust, this was a day set aside for clubs to help raise the profile of and some much-needed funds for the Irish rugby players’ charity.

Carrickfergus RFC’s Youth Section decided that they would like to support the IRFU Charitable Trust’s objectives and on Saturday last had a ‘Crazy Hat Day’ where every member of the section plus coaches would wear a crazy hat and pay a small fee to the trust.

It was indeed a crazy sight in the car park at CRFC as the section readied itself for an away trip. Full matchday uniform of CRFC tracksuits were the order of the day augmented by every imaginable item of headgear, some a little crazier that others.

The event was organized by the sections brains trust of Youth Coordinator Mark Kidd and former YDOs Michael Dickson and Jimmy McTeggart.

Mark commented that it was a total credit to all of the young people in the group that they bought into supporting the IRFU Charitable Trust and in doing so raised in excess of £120.

He also went on to say that CRFC Youth Section was committed to providing the highest level of youth rugby coaching available in the local community and would continue to strive with offering young people a chance to express themselves in a friendly and safe environment, enhancing their rugby development.
