Bud Light Tag Coming To A Club Near You!
The 2010 Bud Light Tag season is shaping up to be the biggest and best to date with a host of new venues already confirmed. This is the only official IRFU TAG Rugby programme in Ireland and registration of teams will open on Thursday, January 7, 2010 with the leagues running from May to August.
The growth of Bud Light Tag has been phenomenal and this year’s programme expects to see over 1,000 teams and 12,000 participants at 19 venues across Ireland.
The new venues include St. Mary’s College RFC/Templeogue College and Blackrock College RFC (Dublin), Highfield RFC (Cork) and Malone RFC (Belfast) as the newest members of the Bud Light Tag family in 2010.
“Last year’s leagues exceeded expectations to the point that we have again expanded the number of venues, allowing for more teams and players to take part,” said IRFU Bud Light Tag Manager, Olly Hodges.
“In addition, this year will see more Bud Light Tag Beach Festivals being added to the calendar after their successful 2009 season. Popular venues such as Dingle, Inchydony and Enniscrone will be returning in 2010.
“The social aspect of TAG and its ability to attract players who may never have even set foot in a rugby club before has been not only a boost to the venue club in term of revenues, but also to the possibility of attracting new members.”
The Bud Light Tag leagues caters for all levels of skill and fitness for mixed social teams, and the also the ever popular Veterans Tag (over 33s).
The growth of Tag rugby has been successful in spreading the popularity of the game of rugby and its non-contact nature and social aspect have made it accessible to both men and women in the specially graded levels.
Registrations are performed online at www.irfutag.ie and open on Thursday, January 7, 2010 with team registration fees remaining at 2009 prices, providing great value to all participating players.
