Magners League: Round 3 Preview

Magners League: Round 3 Preview

After just two rounds of the Magners League, only two teams retain a 100% record – Edinburgh and Glasgow Warriors. The Scottish pair are both in action away from home on Friday evening.

Table-topping Edinburgh travel to Belfast to play Ulster, while Glasgow  head to the Principality to face the Newport Gwent Dragons.

Edinburgh will be looking to build on their success – they have already recorded eight straight wins in Magners League games.

The Warriors will take heart in the fact that the last four games between themselves and Dragons have ended in a win for the away team on the day.

Elswhere on Friday night, the Ospreys welcome another Irish province, Leinster, to Liberty Stadium and will be hoping to avoid a repeat of last week’s defeat by Ulster.

Connacht will welcome the Cardiff Blues to the Sportsground, with both teams anxious to record their first win of the season.

The round concludes on Saturday with the visit of reigning champions, Munster, to Llanelli to take on the Scarlets at Parc y Scarlets.

The hosts have recorded back-to-back victories at their home ground, both games against Irish opposition, but Munster have won on the last seven occasions the teams have met in all competitions, so there is plenty to look forward to in this encounter.
