Ulster Rugby have announced the signing of Tamaiti Horua from Super 14 side, the Western Force, on a two-year contract. Horua will join Ulster for pre-season training in the summer.
Ulster’s latest signing, Tamaiti Horua, is a 115kg, 1.91m blindside flanker who was born in New Zealand and raised in Melbourne, Australia.
Comfortable at number 8, Horua is an experienced and physical back rower. The 26-year-old has won 42 Super 12/14 caps to date and made his professional debut in 2002 with the Brumbies.
The same year, Horua captained the Australian Under-21 side. He has also been capped by the Wallabies at Under-19 and ‘A’ level.
Described as a ‘powerful forward, with clever ball skills,’ he will bring a great dept to the Ulster back row for the 2009/10 season.
