Nenagh Ormond number 8 Mosese Volavola stretched over to score in the ninth-minute of injury-time and bring Sunday’s Well back down to earth after their impressive victory over former table-toppers Queen’s University last weekend.

The Well were full value for their 10-6 half-time lead over the Tipperary visitors, edging the battle of the packs.

Prop Michael Moynihan muscled over for a try, which out-half Chris Burnett converted.

In the opening 40 minutes, Nenagh out-half John Lillis landed two penalty goals to one from Burnett.

The place-kickers continued their individual contest in the second half, adding two penalties apiece to their team’s tallies.

The Corkmen, who were very strong defensively, looked like they would hold on for a 16-12 win but a late lapse allowed powerful Fijian international Volavola break the home side’s hearts.

The conversion was not needed as Nenagh picked up their third league win since the turn of the year, following their recent successes against Barnhall and Rainey Old Boys.

The Tipperary, who have won half of their ten games to date, are back on home turf for next Saturday’s clash with Old Wesley.

Next weekend Sunday’s Well should be able to bounce back away to bottom side Waterpark.
