Lions Legends Due In Dublin
Three British & Irish Lions legends entertained a sold-out SWALEC Stadium in Cardiff on Friday night when the Cardiff HSBC Lions Legends event kicked off on the eve of the Wales v England Six Nations clash.
Gareth Edwards, who toured in 1968, 1971 and 1974, teamed up with Mike Teague (1989 and 1993) and Willie John McBride (1962, 1966, 1968, 1971 and 1974) to share their on and off the field stories of former Lions tours and debate the selection of the HSBC Lions Legends XV.
After Cardiff, the HSBC Lions Legends event series, which is in support of the Lions Charitable Trust, arrives in Dublin on the evening of Thursday, February 26, when Paul Wallace (1997), Fergus Slattery (1971 and 1974) and Gareth Edwards team up on stage at the Guinness Storehouse.
Guests at the event will experience the pride and the passion that each tour creates, hearing stories from, and meeting with, some of the most famous players ever involved with these historic tours.
The three legends will be joined by other great Lions players of years gone by in the build-up to Ireland v England Six Nations encounter.
