The Big Rugby Ball At Ballymena

The Big Rugby Ball At Ballymena

With preparations for Ballymena RFC’s Big Rugby Ball now finalised, the club is delighted, and privileged to announce that their President, Dr. Syd Millar, is donating his most coveted, fully autographed British & Irish Lions Jersey (1974 victorious tour to South Africa), for the auction, to be held on the evening.

Dr. Syd Millar has achieved everything possible in his chosen sport as a player, coach, manager and administrator, with his career culminating in his appointment as Chairman of the International Rugby Board.

Following his retirement from the top post in world rugby, Syd has returned to his Club taking up an active role, as President of Ballymena RFC.

There are many items of general sporting memorabilia available on various websites and at auction.

However, rarely if ever, has there been an opportunity to acquire something really special and unique to the sport of rugby union.

The Ball, being held in Ballymena’s Tullyglass Hotel on Friday, February 20, is a 700 guest sell-out.

Headlining this event will be the world famous Four Tops with Manila Strings, Fiddler Adam and Backbeat Big Band completing a highly entertaining line up for the evening.

Among the leading items to be auctioned is a prestigious package provided by Emirates Airlines to include Club Class return flights to Dubai, Hotel Accommodation and VIP access to the Dubai Sevens.

Details of others will be displayed on the club’s website www.ballymenarfc.com.

Those who wish to submit a silent bid on any of the auction items, may do so by contacting Les McCracken at les@mccuefit.com or +44 7831 454084.

The Ballymena RFC Club Development draw will also conclude at this event with first prize being a Renault Clio.  There will also be some runners-up cash prizes.

Tickets priced £20.00 are available now from any club member and on the night itself.
