A Great Beach Tag Day Out In Dingle

A Great Beach Tag Day Out In Dingle

The Budweiser Tag Festival season got into full swing last weekend with the first Beach Tag of the summer in Dingle. Read on for sun, sea, sand and TAG!

Last Saturday (June 7), Muiríoch Beach in Dingle, County Kerry saw Budweiser Beach Tag kicking off the first Budweiser Festival of the year with Rugbaí Corca Dhuibhne the hosts.

Regardless of the Atlantic weatherfront, nothing prevented teams such as Utter Rubbish, Sandy Cracks or Dock Road Hookers from having a superb day out on the beach playing Tag rugby.

With the quality of teams such as Mick Galwey’s Munster Legends side who had amongst its ranks, Leinster, Munster and Ireland half-back Brian O’Meara, this day was always going to be a very special event indeed.

Congratulations to the eventual winners of the day, the Beach Bums, who set the tone for the day as any Tag rugby festival would wish for.

Afterwards, everyone involved headed to the wonderful pub in Ballydavid, Tigh TP for the night’s festivities of music, food and a few post-match drinks.

Many thanks to all who participated and organised.

Next week sees the Festival season continue with the Connacht Provincial Open Championship on June 14 hosted by Westport RFC at their wonderful grounds.

Places are still available so if thinking about entering, waste no further time as that place you hoped for could be gone.
