Magners League: Round 6 Preview

Magners League: Round 6 Preview

After three draws last Friday night, there are another three Magners League games this weekend – with two games on Friday and one on Saturday and all four provinces in action. Read on for a short preview.

Fifth-placed Leinster will be looking to break up the Welsh domination at the top when they face Interprovincial rivals Connacht on Friday night at the RDS.

The westerners have not won on the road in the league since September 2006 and have not beaten Leinster in any of their last six meetings – a win for the hosts would lift them into third place in the league standings.

Munster and Edinburgh, who meet on Saturday, will also have designs on a move toward the top end of the table with the hosts looking for a return to winning ways after failing to record a victory since late September.

Edinburgh have also had a patchy run this season, and have not recorded an away win since their last trip to Munster back in October of last year.

The weekend’s third game sees Ulster travel to Glasgow Warriors on Friday night, with the former champions looking to move off the foot of the table.

A bonus point win could see Ulster jump past Glasgow in the standings, however if Glasgow keep up their fine home form this season they could push up into the top half of the table.
