Terenure Boost Squad With Summer Signings

Former Leinster and Irish Academy out-half David McAllister has rejoined Terenure College RFC after a year long contract with Italian Super 10 side Infinito L’Aquila. Terenure are delighted to welcome McAllister back to the squad which he helped lift the AIB League Division Two title in 2005/06. The 25-year-old will also take up a position as a Rugby Development Officer within the Leinster Branch.

Terenure finished mid table in AIB League Division One last season and will be hoping that the new signings can push them into contention for a top four play-off spot.

Rafal Sajur, the 28-year-old Polish back row forward, has also joined Terenure for next season. Rafal has represented his country at all levels as a back row and was voted Polish Player of the Year last season. He has signed for the Dubliners from Lodtz RFC, who won the Polish championship last term.

Keeping with the international theme, Richard Bruce will link up with ‘Nure on their Italian tour from Geraldine RFC in New Zealand. Richard, who is a full-back/centre, was also a member of the South Canterbury NPC side and is a keen cricketer. His is the son of legendary All Black Doug Bruce.

Terenure have also signed three players from within the Irish domestic scene – Wales Under-21 Centre Richard Keatley, who joins the club from Bective Rangers, hooker Anthony Ronan , a Terenure College past pupil, is linking up with the club from Suttonians, while centre Glenn Howard has left Dublin University for the Lakelands outfit.

A statement from the Division One club said: “Terenure are delighted to welcome these new players for the forthcoming season and hope to further strengthen the squad in the coming days and hope that the success of their recently launched Academy will further help strengthen the club’s position in the coming months and seasons.”
