Con, the Division One leaders, will hope to preserve their unbeaten record in the league against their Cork rivals. The sides have met twice previously in the league at Musgrave Park, this weekend’s venue, with Con emerging as victors on both occasions.

Kevin of Temple Hill will no doubt feel the tension as he steps onto the pitch at his former home ground in an effort to defeat his former comrades for the first time, having rejoined Cork Con.

The Coughlan brothers are pictured at Musgrave Park, ahead of this weekend’s tussle. Kevin has been used in the second row and back row for Con this season, while Dolphin number eight James has received provincial recognition – having gained a development contract and made his competitive debut against Cardiff in September, his current Munster caps tally stands at seven.

James, who turned 26 last month, will be hoping to lift Dolphin back up the table after they slipped places when they lost to Galwegians last time out. They were idle last weekend as they did not qualify for the AIB Cup this season.

Constitution, who lost their grip on the AIB Cup when being beaten at St. Mary’s last Saturday, edged Dolphin 11-9 on their most recent league visit to Musgrave Park in December 2003. This weekend will mark Con’s 60th AIB League fixture against a Munster club and they are seeking their 36th victory.
