Leamy played in all three Test matches and was roundly praised for his efforts as Ireland’s number 8 – BBC Sport’s Jim Stokes summed up the Munster man’s contribution brilliantly when he wrote: “Leamy was involved in everything and he did it with superb skill, and energy throughout. A world class performer with more to come.

“The 24-year-old is a lineout option; he can run with the ball in hand with great strength and pace; he can tackle, and hard too, and can pilfer the ball on the deck as any good openside can.”

Leamy topped our latest poll with a whopping 54% – 1156 votes! We asked you: Who did you rate as Ireland’s best player during the summer tour?”

Leinster centre Gordon D’Arcy grabbed second place with 17%. Munster lock Paul O’Connell tallied up 12% for third, while Leinster and Ireland centre and captain Brian O’Driscoll finished level pegging with Munster flanker David Wallace on 8.5%.
