The FIRA AER U-18 European Championship comes to a close on Saturday with the Irish showing several changes to the XV that started the 13-0 win over Portugal during the week.

In the backs, Rossall School’s Matthew Betty moves from the right wing to full-back in place of Karl Manning, with Navan RFC’s Eamonn Sheridan moving from centre to take Betty’s place on the flank.

William Stewart of Ballyclare RFC moves from inside to outside centre, with Conor Armstrong of the Sedbergh School coming into the team at number 12. Waterpark RFC’s Dale Harris replaces Kris Greene in a straight swap at scrum half. It is Harris’ first start of the tournament.

The entire front row has changed. John Rowe, Conor Whelan and Andrew Cassidy make way for Michael Moynihan of Sundays Well RFC, Monaghan RFC’s David McGregor, a back row against the Portuguese but hooking against Georgia, and Conor Higgins of Ballinasloe RFC.

Midleton RFC’s Michael Cronin gains a start at openside flanker, Eoin Sheriff of Gorey RFC returns to the starting line-up in the second row – Tom Burns moves back to the replacements bench.

The action in Paese kicks off at 9.00am (Irish time).
