Pictured above: Ireland coach Eddie O’Sullivan and captain Brian O’Driscoll bring the Triple Crown trophy with them through the arrivals area at Dublin Airport. The squad got a great reception from upwards of 500 expectant supporters. O’Driscoll said: “It’s an incredible reception (from the fans). We weren’t anticipating this.”

O’Sullivan added: “It’s just beginning to sink in that we’ve won the Triple Crown. It was late in the day yesterday when we beat England and everyone was tired and emotional. I think the guys are going to get a couple of days off to relax and enjoy themselves, and deservedly so.”

Ronan O’Gara who was a popular choice for autograph hunters at the airport. The top-scoring out-half said: “It (The fans coming out) means a lot to the players and it’s set us off home in good form.”

Brian O’Driscoll leads the Irish squad out at the airport. O’Sullivan paid tribute to his players, adding: “(During the campaign) A lot of the players stepped up to the plate when it mattered most and I am very proud of them. We showed we have guts and character.”
