David Wallace and Jerry Flannery let their fingers do the talking on a busy day at Elverys. The Limerick duo will have divided loyalties on Saturday when Flannery’s Shannon take on Garryowen, Wallace’s club team, in AIB League Division One at Dooradoyle.

Both David Wallace and Jerry Flannery drew the plaudits after their performances in Sunday’s win, especially Flannery, who almost got in for his second try in three 6 Nations outings. Ireland forwards coach Niall O’Donovan commended the 27-year-old hooker on “a superb performance”, whilst former Ireland lock, captain and manager Donal Lenihan said: “Jerry Flannery’s lineout throw-in was spot on (against Wales) and he is emerging in recent months as a quality international.”
