Pictured above: Ulster winger Andrew Maxwell on the charge at the Stadio Comunale di Monigio. The 24-year-old was starting his first Heineken Cup game in over a year. Maxwell, an Ireland Sevens international, played against Cardiff last January in a pool tie. His haul of three first half tries against Treviso, scored on 3, 21 and 33 minutes, propelled Ulster to third win in Pool Four, but unfortunately, Mark McCall’s side could only finish third in the final shake-up.

Maxwell said afterwards: “It is just the sort of matches you dream of playing in. You know you are going to get a bit of ball and it is a nice firm pitch and playing outside the likes of Andrew Trimble and Tommy Bowe, you know you are going to get a bit of good ball and a bit of space.”
