Ireland coach Eddie O’Sullivan has made one change to his side for Saturday’s Test match against Australia at Lansdowne Road. Pictured above: Ulster’s Andrew Trimble will earn his first cap as a starter against the Aussies. The 21-year-old will form a new centre partnership with Gordon D’Arcy.

Gordon D’Arcy and Andrew Trimble, with just 13 caps between them, will operate as Ireland’s midfield against the Aussies. Trimble, nicknamed ‘Arnie’ because of his chiselled features, starred for Ireland at last summer’s Under-21 World Cup and is currently studying Theology in Dunmurry.

Ireland’s new cap Trimble has played for Ballymena, Ulster, Ireland Under-21s and the Barbarians (against the Combined Services last November) over the past two seasons.

The Ireland forwards get set for some scrum practice. Ulster scrum-half Kieran Campbell (centre) prepares to feed.

John Hayes, Shane Byrne and Marcus Horan, who form Ireland’s front row again on Saturday, prepare for some more scrummaging.

Ireland fitness coach Mike McGurn jokes around with flanker Johnny O’Connor, who will earn his ninth cap on Saturday. Galway man O’Connor made his Test debut against South Africa, twelve months ago.

Simon Easterby will captain Ireland for the second successive time on Saturday. The Llanelli flanker shows the lip injury (above) he picked up in the 45-7 defeat by the All Blacks.
