The IRFU recently published its strategic plan to take Irish Rugby forward to the 2007 World Cup & beyond. Information Technology was identified as a key driver in this respect, particularly with the building of the new stadium in 2006.

Commenting on the announcement, IRFU President Barry Keogh said:

As the game of rugby continues to develop throughout the clubs and provincial branches of Ireland, the needs of the IRFU in terms of technology to drive this development also continue to grow. In this respect, the IRFU is delighted to welcome Hewlett Packard, one of the world’s leading providers of technology and services, as a partner over the next three years and look forward to a successful relationship.

In addition to HP keeping the IRFU ahead of the game’ in terms of technology, the partnership will also involve HP branding at matches, IRFU player appearances at HP events & a corporate hospitality package that will form the cornerstone of the HP corporate hospitality program for the next 3 years.

Martin Murphy, Managing Director, HP Ireland, Ltd says:

HP are delighted to partner with the IRFU as there is a natural, relevant synergy for both parties. The sport is well connected to key areas of the business community & HP is the largest supplier of technology & services to business in Ireland.
