Youth Development Office – Tallaght Project

The IRFU are currently looking for a Youth Development Officer to work with the Tallaght Project, which is a jointly funded project between the Irish Sports Council and the IRFU.

The main responsibilities of the role will include the provision of the Sporting Chance programme which forms an integral part of the IRFU / Tallaght project. The Sporting Chance programme is designed to develop sports services within the defined West Tallaght area.

Other areas of responsibility will include:

– Managing the after school completion project in co-operation with local community liaison officers
– Introducing Tag rugby into a range of primary schools within the project area
– Supporting curriculum based rugby modules in post primary schools within the project area
– Responsibility for age grade rugby within the Tallaght Youth Rugby Club

Candidates are required to have previous experience in the delivery of sporting programmes to inner city or disadvantaged areas. Furthermore, candidates will be required to demonstrate strong time management and organisational skills within the agreed formats and ethos of the Tallaght Project which includes the IRFU Code of Ethics in relation to dealing with underage players.
