Celtic League Preview

It is the deciding day in the Celtic League with three sides Llanelli Scarlets,
Ulster and Gwent Dragons in contention for overall honours.

The simplest permutation is if Scarlets win against Ulster then they win the
title. If it’s a draw in Stradey and Dragons win in Dublin, then Ruddock’s team
will be crowned champions. If Ulster were to win and Dragons lose then Alan
Solomons will celebrate the end of his tenure with a Celtic Cup and League double.Fair
return for a good season.

If Ulster were to win without the bonus and Dragons win with the bonus point
then Ulster will be denied by a single pont. It’s that close. And Leinster can
do their northern cousins a favour and at the same time put an end to the nonsense
that has been visited on them in the past weeks.

Reports of player dissatisfaction do, the players no favours and a disservice
to a decent man, the Leinster coach Gary Ella. They can set out their stall
for next season by seeing off the Dragons and giving Ulster a clear run at the
title.
