Charvis Still Doubtful
Wales captain Colin Charvis is still a
major doubt
for Sunday’s Six Nations Championship match against Ireland at
Lansdowne Road.
The flanker, now playing his club rugby for French second division
side
Tarbes, left the field early in Saturday’s 23-10 win over Scotland at
the
Millennium Stadium with a dislocated finger.
The finger was put back but 31-year-old Charvis is now on a course
of
antibiotics to prevent infection.
“The only one who is really struggling is Colin
Charvis,” said Wales coach
Steve Hansen.
“It is just a matter of whether we want to risk playing him
and the finger
being a problem for the whole tournament.”
But hooker Robin McBryde, lock Robert Sidoli, back-row Alix Popham
and wing
Craig Morgan – who all missed the Scotland match through injury – are
back in
full training.
