National Trial Sides

Ireland captain Brian O’Driscoll has been ruled out of a Whites versus Colours National trial match at Lansdowne Road on Friday next, May 9th (ko 6.30pm) because of a hamstring injury. He will also miss the pre Summer Tour squad training camp in Dublin from May 11th to 14th but former Irish team captain Keith Wood has been selected in that 47 strong squad although he will take no part in Friday’s Trial game because of injury.

Injury also rules out, Tyrone Howe, Eric Miller and Mike Prendergast.
Bernard Jackman, Gary Longwell, Niall McMillan, Paul Shields, James Topping and Paddy Wallace were not considered for the Trial game because of their involvement in the AIB League Final the next day while Kieron Dawson, Paul Burke, Guy Easterby, Simon Easterby, Barry Everitt, Kevin Maggs and Geordon Murphy are all involved with their clubs in the English premiership.

David Humphreys will captain a Whites side which will be coached by Matt Williams and the Colours will be led by Anthony Foley and coached by his provincial boss, Alan Gaffney.
