Donncha O’Callaghan replaces Costello

Donncha O’Callaghan (Munster/Cork Constitution) has been called up to the Irish RWC squad in place of the injured Victor Costello for the game against Russia in Krasnoyarsk on Saturday.

Donncha O’ Callaghan (Munster/Cork Constitution) has been
nominated as replacement for injured Victor Costello (Leinster) who has been forced to withdraw from the Irish squad to travel to Krasnoyarsk, Siberia for Ireland’s World Cup qualifying match against Russia on September 21st.
Costello injured his calf muscle in the second half of Leinster’s game against Connacht on Friday night. O’Callaghan was in outstanding form for Munster the same night in their 28-21 victory over Edinburgh at Meadowbank Stadium, a performance watched by Irish coach Eddie O’Sullivan.

The Irish side will be named later today, (12 noon approx).
