A last gasp tackle from French winger Aurilien Rougerie in injury-time saved France from defeat against Wales in the Millennium Stadium. It was a performance that went a long way in restoring some pride in the Welsh game even though they ended up losing 37-33 in this Lloyds TSB Six Nations clash at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday. It was also a very pleasing start for new coach Steve Hansen who took charge in the wake of Graham Henry’s resignation following his side’s woeful display against Ireland in Dublin.

France led 24-19 at the half-time break, but then scored a controversial try through Rougerie just after the break when Wales captain Scott Quinnell spent some time in the sin bin for a dangerous challenge on French fullback Nicolas Brusque.
