O’Kelly and Miller Come Through Unscathed.

Ireland forwards coach Niall O’Donovan was in Dooradoyle on Saturday to see Malcolm O’Kelly return to action and put himself in the frame for a starting spot against England at Twickenham next Saturday. O’Kelly after a slow start, played a major role in his side’s 21-18 win over Garryowen and reported no ill effects afterwards.

Eric Miller, forced out of the game against Wales with a stomach bug, was in inspirational form for Terenure in their 23-20 victory over Blackrock College in Lakelands while Rob henderson scored a try for Young Munster who were however beaten by Ballymena in Tom Clifford Park. ‘A’ international, Paddy Wallace converted Stanley McDowell’s late try in that game to deny the home side desperately needed points.

Kevin Maggs played in the centre for Bath who beat a Keith Woodless Harlequins 18-9 and Geordan Murphy scored his eight try of the season in Leicester 48-7 rout of Saracens at Vicarage Road. Martin Johnson, the Leicester captain, received a yellow card for a punch on Sarrie hooker Robbie Russell that required six stitches. The incident was clearly seen on TV and warranted a red card according to watching pundits Stuart Barnes and Michael Lynagh.
