The individual concerned is an experienced marketing
professional with a keen interest and involvement in rugby. John Feehan, 38, graduated in management studies from Trinity College Dublin, and also has an advanced diploma in marketing techniques. His career includes responsibilitiy in Irealnd, at SmithKline Beecham and Beamish & Crawford, for such brands as Lucozade, Ribena, Carling Black
Label and Miller Genuine Draft, and extensive experience of the catering industry with CPC Foods (now part of Unilever).
Mr Feeham joins the Lions and Six Nations from the Oakhill Group, a world leader in the supply of specialist printing services to major companies, where he is Group Marketing Director. He will assume his new role in the
Dublin offices of Six Nations and British Lions in mid-March.
Roger Pickering, Chief Executive of the Six Nations Committee and of the British Lions said: “I am delighted that John has accepted an invitation to join us. He will add enormously to the skills and experience we have at our disposal, and will make a significant contibution to the future financial strength of both organisations.”
John Feehan said: “This is a great time for rugby. The game is going from strength to strength presenting enormous commercial opportunities. I am
confident that we can generate considerable new revenues to plough back into rugby without compromising the ethos of the game about which we care so passionately.”
Mr Feehan represented Leinster at Schools, Under 19, Under 20 and Senior levels, Ireland at Schools and Under 21 levels and played senior club rugby with Old Belvedere, Dublin University and Old Wesley.
