The event was a showcase for the new stand and for the contribution of the facility to sports development in Waterford and was also attended by representatives from the local GAA and athletics communities.
Many of the National Governing bodies for Sport in Ireland had a trade stand at the event to provide information on coaching and development.
Munster Regional Development Officer John O'Neill was in place to discuss all things rugby on the night.
Waterford City Manager Michael Walsh outlined that the event provides an opportunity to show the Waterford and regional public the suite of facilities that the RSC offers in its widest sense.
The theme of sports development was strong in the evening event reflecting emerging talent as a result of having sports infrastructure like the RSC in place whilst also recognising elite performance.
Commenting further, Walsh added: "The facilities at the RSC cater for high performance and general sports participation and if there was one message that we wanted to get across it is that the RSC is open and accessible to both."
