- kick off 2.30pm unless stated
Cashel (6th) v DLSP (16th), Spafield
Cashel’s win over Seapoint keeps them nicely in the top half of the table but the lack of bonus points and the evenly balance points difference is a problem.
DLSP are not down and out as yet, trailing Greystones and Midleton by just two points – again the lack of bonuses is hurting them.
It should be a home win but as the relegation battle hots up expect ‘Salmo to pull off a surprise one of these weekends.
City of Derry (7th) v Banbridge (4th), Judge’s Road
The home team have notched up 5 try bonuses to date which sees them in 7th despite a negative points difference.
Saturday presents another challenge though as Banbridge come visiting, still nursing that loss to Terenure recently.
The Bann will be hoping to capitalise on the result from Corinthians to at least maintain their top four position.
Corinthians (3rd) v Terenure (1st), Corinthian Park
Only two points separate the sides in this key top of the table clash in Corinthian Park on Saturday. A home win could see them or UCC take over top spot.
Both sides enjoyed comfortable wins last time albeit Corinthians had the tougher opposition in Banbridge.
A real test of Terenure’s ambitions and to date they have met them head on. Can they do the same on Saturday?
Midleton (14th) v Greystones (15th), Towns Park
A key game in the relegation stakes at Towns Park on Saturday. Level on 12 points with the home side having the marginally better points difference this one will be tough.
Midleton’s last outing was a defeat by Galwegians while ‘Stones went down to Bective.
The home side have a tough few weeks ahead against Terenure and Banbridge so their need is arguably greater and may give them the edge.
Old Crescent (10th) v Bective Rangers (12th), Rosbrien
A loss against Galwegians last weekend leaves Old Crescent treading water in 10th place.
Bective beat Greystones in a Friday Night Lights encounter to haul themselves just clear of the danger zone but they are not out of the woods yet.
With two teams automatically relegated and the team in 14th facing a playoff neither side can afford to slip up in the coming weeks.
Old Wesley (9th) v Queens University (13th), Donnybrook
Wesley will still be smarting after their big defeat to their Donnybrook neighbours and will be keen to get a win under their belt.
Queens sit just above the relegation zone but with the Midleton/Greystones clash they could slip down the list.
A home win is on the cards and a difficult few weeks for the students.
Seapoint (11th) v Highfield (8th), Kilbogget Park
Like Bective, Queens and others Seapoint cannot afford a loss this weekend. Defeat to Cashel last weekend will have stung, especially at home.
Highfield, with an extra game played, are comfortable in mid table, thanks in no small part to seven losing bonus points.
They will be a tough nut for Seapoint to crack and are good enough to take the points on the road.
UCC (2nd) v Galwegians (5th), The Mardyke
Another big game with repercussions for the top four. UCC will be hoping that a result from Corinthian Park could help them back to the top of the table.
Galwegians will be aiming for a top four slot in the Bann slip up in Judge’s Road.
UCC’s form has wobbled of late but they should be primed to take this one in the Mardyke.
