During Tuesday's rugby session at the Maree Community Centre in Oranmore, the happy children were introduced to their new friend - the rugby ball - and were instructed not to let it drop. This was followed by relay races, light skills and running drills.
The Chernobyl Children International's 'Rest and Recuperation' programme is designed to give sick children the respite they need from the radioactive environment in which they are forced to live.
They spend four weeks in Galway and are given the chance to relax and detoxify in a healthy environment.
