With another try in the 16th minute from captain Matthew McCullough and a conversion by Eoghan Hickey, Ireland lead well in the first half. Ireland continuted to dominate in the first half with another try and conversion with 12 minutes to go from Eoghan Hickey.

France emerged after half-time refreshed and fighting and scored a total of five tries to see them to victory.
A penalty in the 79th minute from Ireland's Eoghan Hickey was not enough to reduce the margin between the French and the Irish.
