IRFU Chief Executive Philip Browne has issued a statement following confirmation of Ronan O'Gara's decision to retire from playing professional rugby.
His replacement for the game against Ospreys, Paul Warwick, retired injured after receiving an eye injury in the 33rd minute.
Both trained with the squad on Wednesday morning in the wind and rain in Musgrave Park and afterwards the squad was announced at a media briefing in the Heineken Brewery.
Speaking at the briefing, Munster coach Tony McGahan confirmed: "We have a few players coming back this week - (Marcus) Horan, (Ronan) O'Gara and (Keith) Earls being the main ones. Ronan is fighting fit and ready to go.
"We were very disappointed with the performances (against Connacht and Ulster), individually and as a group.
"Last week the Ospreys game gave us an opportunity to get things back where we needed to go to.
"We did that and are pleased to be going into this weekend against a very good side with some sort of performance behind us."
