Jon was appointed in 2008 to lead Ireland through the qualifying tournaments (in Denmark, Poland, and Germany), which he did successfully.
Jon has previously captained and coached the DHL Exiles Sevens to some notable victories in recent seasons.
The captain will be Kieran Campbell, the former Ireland scrum half, now plying his trade with Connacht, but a West Londoner (and London Irish man) by upbringing.
