UL BOHEMIANS 3 BLACKROCK COLLEGE 8, Thomond Park Stadium
Scorers: UL Bohemians: Pen: Ed Torrie
Blackrock College: Try: Andrew Conway; Pen: James Power
The home side were on top in the forward exchanges in the first half but could not penetrate a solid 'Rock defence.
All that Bohs had to show for their dominance was a penalty by out-half Ed Torrie.
Blackrock started the second half in livelier manner and launched a series of rucks and mauls.
Ultimately it paid off when schoolboy star Andrew Conway finished off a terrific left wing attack with a try which centre James Power converted, and there was no denying the Dubliners their opening win.
