Bitbuzz, Ireland's leading Wi-Fi network, announced on Monday its continued support of Irish Rugby by providing the Ireland squad with access to its national Wi-Fi network once again for the duration of the Guinness Autumn internationals and the RBS 6 Nations championship.
Shane Deasy, Bitbuzz's Managing Director, commented: "Bitbuzz are delighted to be able to provide this service to the Irish rugby team. Since the start of our partnership we have seen the demand for our service continue to grow as the players increasingly need to keep in contact with their family and friends during the international campaigns.
"With Bitbuzz the players can access the Internet at broadband speeds from a large number of hotels and other public venues throughout the country."
The IRFU's Director of Commercial & Marketing Padraig Power said: "The players like the freedom of Wi-Fi, so we were looking for a service provider that could provide us with reliable and secure access to the Internet. Bitbuzz come highly recommended and the locations of their Wi-Fi hotspots suited our needs."
Founded in 2003, Bitbuzz is Ireland's largest independent Wi-Fi network operator, providing High Speed Wireless Internet Access services to roaming partners, location owners and direct users. Bitbuzz is the only wholly-owned Irish telecoms company focused entirely on the Wi-Fi market.
The Bitbuzz Wi-Fi service enables users with a Wi-Fi enabled laptop to connect to the Internet at broadband speeds without the need for any cables or wires. Bitbuzz currently has over 100 Wi-Fi hotspots in its network in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, with a planned rollout of over 200 in the next 2 years.
