IrishRugby.ie was delighted to open the post the other day and receive a copy of the Garryowen F.C. Yearbook for 2006/07, courtesy of club PRO Christopher Barry.
As befits a fine club with a wonderful history, they have gone all out on the production of the yearbook. It is a full colour glossy match-programme size production. The yearbook features all of the teams and people that help make the club such a vibrant part of their community.
With a strong emphasis on their academy and underage players, the yearbook highlights the strength in depth that the Dooradoyle club is nurturing. There are also features on some of the famous players to have come from Garryowen including current Ireland international David Wallace.
In numbers alone Garryowen set an example: 52 Garryowen players have been capped for Ireland, 8 players have worn the Lions shirt, 5 members have been President of the IRFU and 3 have managed or coached the Ireland team.
The yearbook is a credit to the club and their sponsors and sets a benchmark for other clubs to measure by. IrishRugby.ie would like to wish Garryowen all the best for the season ahead in the AIB League.
