The former Ulster, Ireland and Lions lock, whose 'Gannon side currently sit in eighth, said afterwards: "We could have and should have beaten Garryowen. It was a very close game that hung in the balance for a while. Against Terenure, we had all the possession and didn't put it away. So realistically we could be sitting with four wins from four.

"The guys showed great character to come back and perform against Cork Con, which was a big ask. And to beat Dolphin, who had already won two of their games, it's a good answer to being in a spot of bother."

Having led 17-6 at the break, thanks to tries from prop Declan Fitzpatrick, lock Ryan Caldwell and flanker Oisin Hennessy, the Tyrone men secured their bonus point in the second half when Magee combined with Neil Patterson to put full-back Richard McCarter over for a try.

Owens, an Australian Sevens international who played with the Brumbies Down Under, became the 90th scorer of a league try for Dolphin recently against Blackrock College.



Dungannon scrum half James Bates avoids the grasp of Dolphin lock Dave Harty. Bates was a more than able foil all afternoon for Ulster-contracted out-half Adam Larkin. Former UCC player Harty is in his second season with Dolphin having debuted against Young Munster in Division Two, thirteen months ago.



Dungannon number 8 Stuart Lamb is well shackled by Dolphin duo Ed Mills and Eric Moloney, who have both been capped at Under-21 level by Munster.



Michael Pehi, the powerful 20-year-old winger from New Zealand, tries to set up an attack for Dungannon. The Wellington youngster has played for Ulster 'A' this season and trained with Mark McCall's senior squad.
