Blackrock Bounce Back With Cork Win

Blackrock Bounce Back With Cork Win

A 70th minute try from pack powerhouse Paul Graham confirmed Blackrock College as five-point victors over Dolphin at Musgrave Park on Saturday.

Paul Graham's try proved to be the match winner as Blackrock were able to maintain possession in the dying minutes, frustrating the Corkmen into submission.

Missing the Munster-tied James Coughlan, Dolphin fell 10-0 behind when a terrific 60-metre run from Andrew Conway resulted in a try for the Leinster prospect.

Darragh Fitzpatrick added a conversion and penalty and 'Rock's lead looked a steady one, until Dolphin threatened just before half-time.

Their out-half and captain Barry Keeshan nailed a penalty, with Fitzpatrick scoring a second, and then in injury-time, Dolphin centre Eric Moloney broke through for a seven-pointer.

The second half was nip and tuck all the way as the place-kickers exchanged shots – leaving it tantalisingly poised at 16-16 – until lock Graham stepped up to grab the match points for Blackrock.
