It is the first time since 2012 that Munster ‘A’ have reached the final of the cross-border competition. and they did so with a compelling performance. Two tries from impressive flanker Conor Oliver framed an astute performance from Peter Malone’s young side, with the only black spot being the ankle injury suffered by Ireland Under-20 out-half Bill Johnston.

Jersey Reds advanced to the final after getting the better of high-flying London Irish in an English Championship derby at the Madejski Stadium yesterday afternoon.

Irish were leading 17-15 in the closing stages, but a penalty from Callum Sheedy followed by replacement hooker Nick Selway’s 77th-minute try ensured a 25-17 triumph for the visitors.

British & Irish Cup final tickets will go on sale in the coming days with full details to be posted on the Munster Rugby website.
