Dillane To Miss Rest Of The Season Following Shoulder Surgery

Dillane To Miss Rest Of The Season Following Shoulder Surgery

Connacht have confirmed that Ireland international Ultan Dillane underwent successful surgery on his shoulder and will be unavailable for the remainder of the season.

Ahead of Saturday’s GUINNESS PRO12 game away to Glasgow Warriors, the Connacht medical team have provided the following update.

Conor Carey is continuing his recovery from his foot injury and will return to play by mid-late April, while Nepia Fox-Matamua sustained an ACL injury in the recent win over Benetton Treviso and will undergo surgery next week.

Peter Robb sustained a hip injury in an Ulster Bank League outing for Old Belvedere and will be unavailable for up to four weeks. Fellow back Matt Healy injured his hand in training last week and will be unavailable for four to six weeks.

Cian Kelleher is continuing his recovery from his hamstring injury and is due to be available in early May, while Ireland Sevens international Josh Rowland has returned to full training with the squad.

Meanwhile, Ireland senior squad members Kieran Marmion, Tiernan O’Halloran and Quinn Roux have all returned to the Connacht set-up and are available for selection this week.

Unfortunately Marnitz Boshoff has had to fly back to his native South Africa following the sudden passing of his father. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this difficult time.
