Ireland international wingers Tommy Bowe and Andrew Trimble will start for Ulster in the province’s pre-season game against Edinburgh at Goldenacre on Friday night (kick-off 6.30pm).
It will be Andrew Trimble’s first game for Ulster since October 2014 having missed much of last season with a toe injury. He is selected on the left wing, Tommy Bowe starts on the right, with fellow international Craig Gilroy named at full-back.
Luke Marshall moves to outside centre with Stuart McCloskey starting alongside him in midfield. Ian Humphreys and Paul Marshall, who scored a try in last weekend’s run-out against Leinster, continue as the half-back pairing.
In the front row Andrew Warwick and Wiehahn Herbst start either side of Rob Herring who is selected again as hooker and captain.
Dan Tuohy and Franco van der Merwe resume their second row partnership with Clive Ross, Sean Reidy and Robbie Diack picked in the back-row.
Ulster head coach Neil Doak has named an extended panel for the game with 11 replacements making the trip to Scotland. Forwards Paul Jackson, Ruaidhri Murphy, Peter Browne, Conor Joyce and Willie Faloon are joined by backs David Shanahan, Sam Windsor, Sam Arnold, Louis Ludik and Peter Nelson.
