Zebo Aiming To Hit Form At Right Time

On completing their Ireland training camp commitments this week at Carton House, Conor Murray, Munster captain Peter O’Mahony and Simon Zebo met with media in Dublin to officially launch the new adidas Munster Rugby home and alternate kits.

The 2015/16 Munster Rugby range will be available to purchase in-store and online from Life Style Sports this Saturday (July 25). The new items can be viewed online here and are currently available for pre-order. Munster’s official retail partners are also exclusively carrying a Women’s Munster home jersey this year.

Following on from the slight injury he sustained in Galway last week, Simon Zebo confirmed it was just a mild knock to his knee. “It was my kneecap. It kinda (went) out and in. It was that feeling anyway. It was quite worrying for a few minutes,” he admitted.

“It’s all good, though. The scans showed up clear, just a little bit of damage, but nothing to keep me out for too long. It’s fine.

“I took a few days’ rest. I had to take a few meds and put up the leg, but I feel fresh now again. We were doing speed training and things like that and I was moving quite well.”

As he looks to cement a place in Joe Schmidt’s Rugby World Cup plans, the Corkman is vying for a spot in a highly competitive position, and he is certainly hoping to make an impression in the next few weeks.

“Just play the way I am capable of playing and do things on the pitch that I am able to do. It will just come down to form, I think. There are four Test games coming up to the World Cup. Whoever’s form is best will go on the plane.

“Obviously there is going to be class international standard players who are not going to travel. That’s just the way it is, that’s sport.”
