Fit-Again Ruddock Back In Contention For Leinster

Fit-Again Ruddock Back In Contention For Leinster

After training at UCD this afternoon, Leinster head coach Matt O’Connor has issued a squad update ahead of Friday GUINNESS PRO12 game against the Ospreys in Swansea (kick-off 7.35pm).

Ben Marshall, who was withdrawn before the match against Zebre on Friday, has returned to training this week and is available for selection. He rolled his ankle in the warm-up and has recovered sufficiently.

Richardt Strauss, Tom Denton and Noel Reid have all come through the return-to-play protocols and have resumed full training this week, albeit that hooker Strauss is with the Ireland squad in Carton House. All three are available for selection for Leinster and in Strauss’ case, for Ireland, this weekend.

Shane Jennings (shoulder) was replaced by senior debutant Ross Molony in the second half of the bonus point win over Zebre but is available for selection. Zane Kirchner, who also came off in the second period, managed his first game back from injury with no issues and is again available for selection.

Finally, Ireland international Rhys Ruddock has trained as normal this week and is available for selection for Friday night’s game at the Liberty Stadium. It would be his first Leinster appearance since suffering a broken arm against Harlequins on December 13.
