Ankle Injury Rules Adeolokun Out For Three Weeks

Following last Friday’s disappointing loss to the Ospreys, Connacht now face into a three-week break in games until their GUINNESS PRO12 round 8 date with Zebre at the Sportsground on Friday, November 21.

Pat Lam’s men, currently in sixth place in the league table, have a week’s holiday before they return to the Sportsground for training next Monday (November 10).

The Connacht medical team reported injuries to two players following the 26-11 defeat at the Liberty Stadium. Winger Niyi Adeolokun, who turned 24 today, suffered an ankle sprain and is likely to be out of action for up to three weeks.

Also off his feet this week is number 8 George Naoupu. The 31-year-old sustained a foot strain but is expected to return to full training the week of the Zebre game.

The following players are also earmarked for a return to training in advance of the next PRO12 outing on November 21: Ronan Loughney (ankle), Finlay Bealham (foot), Mata Fifita (heel), Tiernan O’Halloran (knee) and Miah Nikora (shoulder).

Lock Aly Muldowney, who missed the Ospreys clash due to concussion, has followed the return-to-play protocols and is now available to play.

All Black centurion Mils Muliaina remains on course to make his Connacht debut this month with the New Zealander expected to resume full contact training next week.

Finally, front rower Tom McCartney arrives in Galway from New Zealand this week to complete Lam’s playing squad for 2014/15. Details on his expected playing debut will be confirmed next week.
