Ulster Ravens Team Announced For Aberavon Encounter

The Ulster Ravens team, sponsored by CD Group, has been named for their opening British & Irish Cup Pool 2 match against Aberavon at Talbot Athletic Ground on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

A number of senior squad members have been named in the panel including Ricky Andrew, Ruaidhri Murphy, Ireland international Declan Fitzpatrick and captain Neil McComb.

Peter Nelson has recovered from injury and takes his place in a back-line that includes talented young players Ross Adair, Jacob Stockdale, Jack Owens, Sean O’Hagan and David Shanahan.

Hughes Insurance Academy players, John Andrew and John Donnan, start at hooker and second row respectively, while summer signing Sean Reidy is selected at blindside flanker.

Ex-Munster and Zebre prop Dave Ryan is named among the replacements as are Ireland Under-20 back rower Frankie Taggart and ex-Methody out-half Josh Bingham.

Ulster are in a pool that includes Aberavon, Yorkshire Carnegie and Rotherham Titans. Next Saturday the Ravens play Yorkshire Carnegie at Kingspan Stadium (kick-off 2pm). Tickets can be bought here.
