Leinster Issue Injury Update Ahead Of Aviva Clash

The Leinster squad trained today at UCD ahead of Saturday’s GUINNESS PRO12 derby match against Munster at the Aviva Stadium (kick-off 6.30pm).

Noel Reid returned to training yesterday and trained again today and has shown no ill-effects having recovered from an ankle injury sustained in the opening day fixture against Glasgow Warriors.

Similarly, Dave Kearney has come through his first few on-field sessions as he recovers from his knee injury but is not expected back in full contact training for another few weeks.

Richardt Strauss has again trained this week having made a successful return from his hamstring injury and is available for selection at the weekend, as is Jack McGrath who took a full part in training today.

While Sean O’Brien (pictured above) is making progress with regards to his ankle injury, an issue has come to light with his shoulder and as a result he is meeting a specialist on Friday. Head coach Matt O’Connor will provide a further update on O’Brien on Thursday.

Zane Kirchner and Shane Jennings are still nursing hamstring injuries and Saturday’s interprovincial clash has come too early for them both and they will not be available for selection.
