This seminar will consist of a presentation from Aidan O’Flynn MA. IACAT. Aidan currently works with the Connacht Academy in this field.

He will focus on the psychological pressures and skills required to cope with today’s game from all sides, (parent, coach and player). As part of his presentation, he may ask for participation from all attendees in workshop format.

In addition to Aidan, Nigel Carolan, the Connacht Rugby Academy manager, will present on the ‘individual player’s performance plan’.

He will discuss how coaching has drastically changed over the last few years and how the focus now is not only on the player’s playing ability but also on the player’s mental capacities and how he deals with this.

Connacht are opening this seminar up to all involved in sport, from a parent, coach and player’s perspective.

Connacht Rugby cannot stress how important this area is and they hope that clubs avail of this fantastic opportunity.
