The Leinster Rugby School of Excellence has been in existence for 16 years and is one of the most successful rugby camps in Ireland which is aimed to develop players and fine-tune their skills.

The camp was originally started by former Leinster Academy Manager and now IRFU High Performance Manager Colin McEntee.

The content of the camp has been developed with the game in recent years and as a result has become the highlight of the summer calendar for many players.

The camp is hosted in the The Kings Hospital School, Palmerstown, which has been its home since its conception in 1998.

The school provides excellent facilities both on and off the pitch to allow the players get the most from their experience. The School of Excellence takes place over July and August. Each camp is a week in duration with the option of residential accommodation offered.

Its aim is to provide players from 12-16 year of age (born between 1998-2002) with a comprehensive rugby package which allows them to experience similar conditions to players at the top level.

Camp goers can learn to play the Leinster way as they will gain greater understanding of the game and learn about values such as team work, commitment, integrity and communication.

Players should expect to partake in a structured rugby development programme and emphasis will be placed on skill development, game understanding, activity and enjoyment.

In particular, players will develop core rugby skills and learn to perform them under challenging conditions through high class coaching in a professional environment.

Positional clinics are run during the week with guest coaches and Leinster Rugby Academy players who provide a keen insight into the specific requirements needed for each area.
